Step Up, Stand Out, Be a Light

ree

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Matthew 5:14

Over the last month, so much has happened. The loss of life has been enormous. We all know about Iryna Zarutska, Charlie Kirk, the Minnesota Church incident, the most recent incident in Michigan and the Evergreen High School incident.

We must also be aware of what is happening around the world. In Nigeria 100,000 Christain’s have lost their lives and 18,000 churches destroyed. This level of violence and persecution is happening everywhere right now.

While it seems that violence is taking place at a faster rate, we as Christians have a job, a responsibility. Our job is more than just sharing the gospel; it’s more than just being kind and respectful. It’s also about being a light.

We are called to be a light to the world. We are called to love our enemies and pray for them. We are called to shine bright enough so that all will know us and see His love and mercy through us. Right now, when times seem the darkest, is when we have to step up, stand out and be a light. The world needs us, and the world needs God now more than ever.

As Christians, we know what is coming, we are aware of the path that the Bible talks about. However, we still have a job to do now. We should rejoice that God is giving us time to continue to do that work.

So I want to encourage you, don’t lose heart or your faith. Pray harder, shine brighter, love more and share His word louder. God is with us, even in our darkest days. He is with us to guide us and help us along the way. Place your full trust in Him and He will guide you where you need to go and what you need to do.

Don’t fight with those who want to fight, don’t argue with those who want to argue. We can’t stop hate with hate; we can only stop it with love. Pray for those who say and do hateful things. Prayer is our most powerful tool, and we should arm ourselves with it daily.

So, I want to challenge you, Step Up, Stand Out and Be a Light! Help those who need help, pray for those who need prayer, speak softly and be slow to anger. Love those who need love and share God’s Gospel to everyone with love and mercy.

We have a job to do, we are called to be a light and now more than ever, we must shine brighter than the darkness that is sweeping around the world.

Warm Blessings,

K. M. Leffler
