The Special I Love You

"Mommy needs a special I love you."

A 4-year-old boy named Dustin wakes up one morning with the desire to tell his mother he loves her in a special way. Dustin embarks on a journey with his mom and dog, Charlie, throughout the day, searching for the perfect words to express his love for his mother. Each time he thinks he finds the right words, his mom responds with something equally endearing. But after he gets tucked in with his favorite bedtime story about Jesus and the little children, Dustin finally finds the words that express his true feelings, leaving his mom speechless and overjoyed.

The Special I Love You is a heartwarming children's picture book. Dustin’s desire to tell his mom he loves her in a deeply meaningful way becomes intertwined with his love for Jesus. The story of a little boy experiencing the world in a unique way is designed for children between the ages of four and seven, to be read together with parents or other adult caregivers, who will bond with the little ones over the message of faith and love.

"Updates"

July 1, 2026 - Contract is written and has been reviewed by my chosen Illustrator! I'm so excited! Editing has been done, with just a little more left to go, after the illustrations are complete. With any luck, I'll be ready for Mother's Day 2027! In the meantime, here are some fun coloring sheets for the littles. Feel free to download the PDF and print off what you would like. This is my gift to you! Also! With the anticipation of a Mother's Day release, those who receive my newsletter will be the first to preorder their own copy! So if you aren't already, be sure to hop on over and sign up. (Don't worry, I don't send out Newsletters all the time, usually just once a month with updates, once in a while I've done twice, but that's rare.)

Free Coloring Pages

I am currently working diligently to complete and publish this book. While I am considering a traditional route for this book, I do have an artist that I hope to work with. This artist has already done some drawings for me, and I'm excited to share them with you! However, I have to briefly step back and redo my editing. Which is completely ok.

I promise to keep you updated as I move forward. God willing, I will have this ready to publish sometime next year! So, please say a prayer that God will make a way as I move forward.
